Making Tax Digital (MTD) for VAT is a government initiative in the UK that makes it mandatory for VAT registered businesses to keep digital records and submit their VAT returns using compatible software. The goal of MTD is to make it easier and more efficient for businesses to fulfill their tax responsibilities while reducing the chance of errors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MTD for VAT was introduced gradually, and most businesses had to comply starting from 1st April 2020. However, there are a few exemptions, such as businesses with a turnover below \u00a385,000 or those that only trade outside the UK.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
